Privacy
This policy describes how Red Thread Blueprint collects, uses and shares personal information when you order a reading or make contact. Orders placed through Etsy are also covered by Etsy's own privacy practices, which are separate from this policy.
1. Information collected
To prepare and deliver a made-to-order reading, Red Thread Blueprint collects what you provide when you place an order or send a message:
- The subject's name, as supplied for the reading.
- The birth details needed to compute the reading: date of birth, time of birth if known, and place of birth as city and country.
- Your marketplace contact details, as passed on for order communication.
- The contents of any messages you send about your order.
Payment card details are never collected or stored. Payment is handled entirely by the marketplace.
2. Why it is needed
Birth details are used solely to calculate and generate the reading you ordered and to deliver the finished PDF. Records are also kept where tax and accounting law requires it. Optional communication happens only with your consent, and no one is added to a mailing list without asking.
Readings are prepared only for subjects aged eighteen and over.
3. How it is shared
Information is shared only as needed to provide the service:
- The marketplace through which the order is placed and delivered.
- An AI language model operated by Anthropic, which processes the birth details to help draft the written interpretation before it is reviewed. Under Anthropic's commercial terms this data is not used to train models, and is retained only briefly for abuse monitoring before deletion.
Personal information is never sold, and it is never shared for anyone else's marketing.
4. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
This shop is operated from Australia and the service providers above are based in the United States, so personal information is transferred outside the European Economic Area to be processed. Two safeguards apply: the Standard Contractual Clauses included in those providers' data processing terms, and the fact that the transfer is necessary to perform the contract you entered into when ordering.
5. How long it is kept
Birth details and the generated reading files are kept for twelve months after delivery, so a file can be reissued or corrected if there is a problem. After twelve months they are deleted.
The record of the sale itself, which does not include birth details, is kept for five years as Australian tax law requires. Most of that record is held by the marketplace.
6. Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, and under many other jurisdictions, you have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information held about you, to restrict or object to its use, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, use the contact details below. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Business transfer
If this business is ever sold, merged or transferred, your information may pass to the new owner so the service can continue. It would remain subject to a privacy policy at least as protective as this one.
8. Contact
For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation, the data controller is Red Thread Blueprint. Questions and rights requests can go to tk@redthreadblueprint.com, or through the shop at redthreadblueprint.etsy.com.
