BaZi Reading 八字
八字 ba zi: the eight characters, four pillars of two characters each. You already know how you operate. You've probably never had the words for it: why the same pattern keeps arriving, why some years feel like pushing and others like being carried, why the thing that comes easily to you is the thing other people find hard.
This gives you the words. Your four pillars, computed to the exact minute, written out in plain English: what you're built from, what you run short of, which forces keep showing up, and the decade schedule ahead. Every Chinese character is translated where it appears.
What is inside
6 sectionsWhat you're made of. Your day master, the element at the centre of the chart and the one everything else is read against. You come away able to say in a sentence what you're built from.
What you run rich in, and what you run short of. The five elements counted across your chart. Most people recognise this section instantly, because it explains where things have always come easily and where you've had to work harder than seemed fair.
The forces that keep showing up. The ten gods, translated into plain roles: mentor, rival, output, discipline, resource. Naming them is the point.
How you attach. What the chart says about closeness: what bonds you to people, what strains it, and which axis your chart does without. An absent axis is as telling as a present one.
When your seasons turn. The ten-year chapters ahead, each marked for what it favours.
The working, printed. Your four pillars drawn to scale, every character translated, the solar time correction documented. Your document closes with a one-page classical appendix: what a traditional practitioner, reading the same charts strictly by the old texts, would have ruled. Unsoftened, clearly framed, and separate from the reading's own guidance.
Every section closes with what the pattern means for the choices in front of you: when to move, when to hold, what to protect. Tendencies and timing, never verdicts.
Who this reading is for
From the listing- new to this, and starting with your own chart rather than someone’s theory
- three chart calculators deep and still unable to say what any of it meant
- sick of being told you are a Rat, as though a twelfth of the world shares your life
- stuck on a pattern that keeps repeating, and short of the words for why
- at a fork, where every piece of advice lands one size too general
- from a family that talked about this and never once explained it
- after the honest version, including the parts that are not flattering

6 imagesCommon questions
NotesIs this the same chart as the Korean Saju reading?
The four pillars are identical, because both are read from the same birth moment. What differs is the tradition doing the reading: this one uses the Chinese vocabulary and the ten gods, and the Saju reading uses the Korean readings of the same characters and the sipseong. Ordering both gives two accounts of one chart, not two charts.
How is this different from the Career Path reading?
Scope. This one reads the whole chart across six sections, including how you attach and when your seasons turn. Career Path takes one domain and spends twelve sheets on it, down to when the money changes shape. People who want a foundation start here.
What if I do not know my birth time?
Write unknown. The hour pillar is withheld and the reading says plainly which parts it can and cannot speak to. Nothing is invented to fill the gap.
How is this different from a free chatbot reading?
Ask a chatbot for your chart and it invents one, then invents a different one tomorrow. The chart here is calculated by the same deterministic library every time, and the working is printed in the back so you can check it.
Does a caesarean or induced birth change the chart?
No. The chart is cast from the time you were born, however that happened.

Method and sources
The chart is computed with a deterministic astronomical library, corrected for true solar time at your birth longitude, so the same birth details always produce the same chart. What it means is written against the classical texts named in the document and reviewed against your own chart before the file is issued.
