Korean Saju 사주
사주팔자 saju palja: four pillars and the eight characters they carry.Saju 사주 means four pillars. The chart is the same eight characters BaZi computes; the tradition reading them is Korean.
What it is
Saju reads the year, month, day and hour of a birth as four pillars of two characters. The calculation is shared with BaZi, so the eight characters do not differ between the two.
What differs is the tradition. Your day master is the ilgan 일간, the ten relationships are the sipseong, your decade cycles are daeun 대운, and a Korean reading is more willing to name the sinsal. Saju in Korea is also checked before decisions rather than consulted for entertainment, and that practicality shapes how a reading is written.
The ilgan and the daeun
Your ilgan 일간 is the day stem, the character that stands for you. Your daeun 대운 are the decade cycles, which say which stretches favour expansion and which favour consolidation. Both are read off the same ten stems the BaZi reference sets describe.
