Yang Water 壬
The ocean. In Korean, 임수 imsu, the same Yang Water. The day master that keeps moving and carries whatever it picked up on the way.
What Yang Water is
Your day master is the single character your whole chart is measured against. Yang Water is the ninth of the ten heavenly stems, and the classical image is a large body of moving water, the sea or a river: volume, motion, and a route that finds itself.
Here is the part a trait list will not tell you. Yang Water is resourceful because it does not commit early, and it does not commit early because there is nearly always another way round. That keeps options open long past the point where choosing one would have been cheaper. Water with nowhere to run does not stay clear. The skill is giving it somewhere to go on purpose, before circumstance picks a channel.
How it reads in context
A day master on its own is one character out of eight. What changes the reading is the season it was born into, what else is sitting in the chart, and which decade the luck cycle has reached. Yang Water in a supported chart and Yang Water in a chart that fights it behave differently enough that the same advice would be wrong for one of them.
Common questions
NotesDoes Yang Water mean I am adaptable?
Adaptability is the visible half. The other half is that a chart with this day master will often keep several routes live at once, which looks like flexibility from outside and can feel like indecision from inside. Both readings are describing the same mechanism.
What controls Yang Water in a chart?
Classically, earth banks it and gives it direction. A reading is looking for whether the chart has anything that channels the volume, because unbanked water is the version that goes stagnant rather than the version that goes far.

Method and sources
The ten god relations on this page are computed from the stems themselves, and their plain-English names follow the classical texts listed below. Day pillars are computed with a deterministic astronomical library, never estimated.
