What Yang Wood is

Your day master is the single character your whole chart is measured against. Yang Wood is the first of the ten heavenly stems, and the classical image for it is a tall tree rather than a vine: something with a trunk, a chosen direction, and a real cost to changing course.

Here is the part a trait list will not tell you. Yang Wood does not bend easily, because bending reads as losing. So it holds until something snaps it instead. A bent tree still stands. A snapped one starts over. The whole skill is choosing the bend early, while it is still your call rather than circumstance making it.

How it reads in context

Is Yang Wood a good day master to have?

No day master is better than another. Each one reads as a set of tendencies with a matching cost, and the useful question is which season and which company it landed in.

Is the day master the same in Saju and BaZi?

Yes. The same pillar is called 일간 ilgan in Korean practice and 日主 rizhu in Chinese, both meaning day master. The conventions around it differ more than the character does.
