What Open Wealth is

Open Wealth is an element your day master controls, in matching polarity. In the five-element cycle each element governs one other, and the gods built on that relation are the wealth pair.

Control here is not domination. It is the relation of something being yours to work with, which is why the classical vocabulary treats what you control as what you can gather.

How it reads

The theme is windfalls, deal-making, generosity and opportunity. Classical practice places it with sales, with entrepreneurship, and with the kind of work where the return follows the initiative rather than the hours.

With money it is flexible and opportunistic: gains that arrive because someone went and found them. In how you relate to people it reads as sociable and generous, with ties that are wide and fluid rather than few and fixed.

Where the god sits colours it. In the month pillar, which sits at the career engine, Open Wealth describes a working life organised around opportunity. In the year, it belongs more to the environment a person came up in.

Why the same god reads two ways

Wealth costs the day master effort: controlling something takes strength, and the chart has to have it.

A day master with enough behind it finds Open Wealth exactly what the name suggests. There is capacity to go after the opportunity and to survive the ones that do not land.

A day master already stretched finds the same relation exhausting. The opportunities are still visible, which is its own kind of difficulty, but the chart has nothing spare to chase them with.

Same relation, opposite reading. This is why a reading spends its time on whether your chart can carry what it holds, rather than on listing what it holds.

Does Open Wealth mean I will be rich?

No. Wealth in this vocabulary is a relation, not an amount: it names the elements your day master controls, and describes how you tend to engage with resources rather than how many you end up with. A chart with several wealth gods and no capacity to hold them is a well-known pattern, and it is not a wealthy one.

What makes it "indirect"?

The polarity matches your day master, which classical practice calls the indirect or uneven form. In practice it reads as wealth that is not on a schedule: opportunity rather than salary, the deal rather than the wage.

How is it different from Steady Wealth?

Only polarity, and it changes the shape entirely. Open Wealth is opportunistic and moves; Steady Wealth accumulates. Charts often hold both, and the reading is then about which one the person actually acts on when it matters.
